DESCRIPTION:This National Kids to Parks Day\, join us for the kick-off of our Third Saturday Discovery Nights at Sky Meadows. The Children’s Discovery Area comes to life at 6:30 p.m. with activities at each of our interactive discovery stations. Kids\, paint the sunset with nature’s ink\, grow and ‘make’ food at your frontier home\, dance to the tunes of a barnyard band\, and more. Pick up a scavenger hunt brochure and join a volunteer or ranger for a hike on the Track Trail. Come back the third Saturday\, June through September\, for our Third Saturday Discovery Nights.\nCan’t make the evening event? The Children’s Discovery Area will be open all day for your own adventure. Or\, stop by the Visitor Center from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. to pick up a Junior Ranger booklet\, Family Discovery Backpack activity\, or rent a Geocaching GPS unit to go on your own kid-friendly adventure. Lastly\, be sure to stop by the Explorer Outpost from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.\, located on the Boston Mill Road Trail near the Park Office\, for a kid-friendly discovery table.
