DESCRIPTION:Pied Piper Theatre’s production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid follows the beautiful young mermaid\, Ariel\, who longs to leave the ocean and walk in the world above the sea. Against the wishes of her father King Triton\, she makes a deal with the evil sea witch Ursula and meets Prince Eric on her first adventure on land. With the help of her best friends Flounder\, Sebastian the crab\, and Scuttle the seagull\, Ariel attempts to break the curse of the sea witch. \nPerformances are Saturday\, April 28 at 2PM and 7PM and Sunday\, April 29 at 3PM at the Hylton Performing Arts Center. \nMusic by Alan Menken. Lyrics by Howard Ashman & Glenn Slater. Book by Doug Wright. Based on Hans Christian Andersen’s story and the Disney film produced by Howard Ashman & John Musker and written & directed by John Musker & Ron Clements. Originally produced by Disney Theatrical Productions. Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).
