DESCRIPTION:Bask in the sumptuous sonorities of six string instruments as the nation’s premier chamber music ensemble fills the Hylton Center with classical elegance. Co-artistic Director and cellist David Finckel performs with the ensemble on this program that includes a trio of sextets by three revered composers: Strauss\, Dvořák\, and Brahms. The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center (CMS) brings audiences “sublime moments of breathtaking beauty.” (Boston Music Intelligencer) With its inaugural performance in 1968 in its new home\, Alice Tully Hall\, a new era for chamber music began in the United States. Today\, CMS has a roster of over 100 of the finest chamber musicians from around the world\, performing a wide range of concerts and education events at Lincoln Center and on tour.
