Enjoy a captivating afternoon of arias, duets, and trios sung by three acclaimed sopranos: Jennifer Decker, Kelly Glyptis, and Angela Knight. This talented trio with piano accompaniment charms in a program of musical treasures inspired by the artists’ favorite repertoire.
Enjoy lunch by an outstanding local restaurant followed by a one-hour concert and a coffee and dessert reception with the artists.

A leading traditional Irish ensemble comes to the Hylton Center for this big pre-St. Patrick’s Day celebration of festive Celtic music. Praised by The Washington Post for their “vibrant mix of virtuosity, energy, and empathy,” Danú performs both ancient Irish music and new repertoire for a lively, flawless performance. Mason’s University Singers, a talented student ensemble from George Mason University’s School of Music, join them onstage for a one-of-a-kind experience. Hailing from Ireland’s old counties, this award-winning ensemble has thrilled audiences throughout Europe and North America with stops at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles and Symphony Space in New York. The virtuoso players are renowned for their mastery of authentic Irish instruments—flute, tin whistle, fiddle, button accordion, and bouzouki—which is matched by gorgeous vocals in English and Gaelic. Bring the whole family to enjoy this entertaining evening of Celtic music!

Mummenschanz you & me

For more than 45 years, these Swiss entertainers have dazzled and delighted audiences of all ages with their unique form of silent visual and whimsical theater. A playful yet compelling experience, Mummenschanz offers timeless and lighthearted insights into the human condition with the creative use of shadow and light and the ingenious manipulation of common objects. The result is a visually stunning spectacle that transcends cultural barriers and sparks the imagination. In this brand new creation, you & me, the Mummenschanz troupe brings to life their famous large-scale masks and revives a tradition of acrobatics. The show will also include some of the classic sketches that have stood the test of time. “Mummenschanz succeeds brilliantly because of its originality, exceptional ingenuity, sense of surprise, and deft satirical touches.” (San Francisco Chronicle)

Keyboard Conversations® with Jeffrey Siegel Beethoven and Friends

Virtuoso pianist Jeffrey Siegel closes our season at the Hylton Performing Arts Center with three 18th century musical masters who were contemporaries of each other. In Beethoven and Friends, Jeffrey Siegel performs Haydn’s delightful Sonata in D, Mozart’s brooding, contemplative Fantasy in D minor, and Beethoven’s passionate, stormy Sonata Pathétique, while offering witty and insightful commentary about the music and composers before playing each piece. Piano music enthusiasts and newcomers alike cherish Jeffrey Siegel’s beloved “concerts with commentary” series that makes everyone feel like a classical music insider. An interactive Q&A will conclude this program.

Bedtime is approaching, and this team of construction vehicles needs to get their rest. But Crane Truck is getting cranky, Cement Mixer takes too long with bath time, and Dump Truck just isn’t sleepy! Excavator and Bulldozer find that preparing for bed is a job in itself! Will they ever get some shut-eye before tomorrow’s day of work? A world premiere musical based upon the New York Times best-selling picture book about construction vehicles by author Sherri Duskey Rinker and illustrator Tom Lichtenheld demonstrates the importance of teamwork, follow-through, hard work, and bedtime rituals. Founded in 2004, the Bay Area Children’s Theatre works to enrich children’s lives, inspire their imagination, and introduce them to lifelong enjoyment of theater.

Recommended for ages 3–8; Pre-K–Grade 3
