As the day winds down at the Virginia Wine Expo, I am excited to announce the Governor’s Cup has gone to Keswick Vineyards 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged for 10 months in 100 percent new French and American Oak, this wine is rich and tannic, with aromas of cassis, blueberries and cedar. It’s a full-bodied wine with flavors of plums, black cherries and bitter chocolate. Young and vibrant, it may be laid down for many years to come. 2007 has proved to be a very good year for the Keswick Vineyard; their 2007 Viogner just won Double Gold at San Francisco Chronicle’s Wine Competition. Congratulations Keswick Vineyards.
