A loyal reader pointed out that there is some fine dining just outside of the Piedmont that should get a little nod of attention. Yes, I was aware that John Shields’ restaurant in Chilhowie had also earned him a Best New Chef nod from Food & Wine Magazine for his mastery at Town House. Nor should one overlook the equally fine talent of executive pastry chef, Karen Urie Shields.
The reader is correct. We can certainly make some adjustments as we are quite the mobile society and travel far and wide in search of exceptional food and drink. So allow me this correction and invite our readers to be well informed about the virtues of nationally recognized fine dining establishments in our fair state.
The boundaries have been stretched, and now we can all be equally knowledgeable and enjoy two newly anointed chefs. Let’s enjoy our delicious bounty.
Point well taken.

The problem with the blog’s cultivation of a venturesome palate is embedded in its own success. Accordingly, it can only invigorate our exertions to know where to land, should we ever slip off the Piedmont.
