Yup, and it was the only Virginia wine to garner that accolade in California’s Grand Harvest Awards. And that’s not the only honor Adieu has received. It’s been racking up the awards all across the nation– from Texas to Virginia, from California to Florida. Plus, Adieu was named “Best of the East” four consecutive years by Vineyard & Winery Management Magazine- for the most awarded wine in the country outside of California! We’re big fans of this fabulous dessert wine, a late harvest Vidal Blanc that’s produced only in exceptional years. Stop by Gray Ghost’s renovated tasting room in Amissville to discover a locally-produced masterpiece. To quote Gray Ghost’s description of this year’s vintage:
The near perfect growing season allowed for extended hanging of the fruit and thus produced some of the most flavorful and sweet grapes ever brought in from the vineyard. The residual sugar of 11.5% along with the rich Muscat and apricot aromas and flavors have made this a must for serving as an after dinner wine with or without a complementing dessert. Complementing desserts include cheesecake, fruit and lighter cheeses with French bread.
