With a Gold Medal and a 93 point score, the Octagon Eighth Edition 2005 earned top honors from the Beverage Tasting Institute’s World Wine Competition in Chicago. Chosen as the best overall red wine, it was also honored as a Cellar Selection with the distinction of drink now and enjoy with a porterhouse, or cellar for several more years. Can’t lose with either choice!
Additionally, the Cabernet Franc Reserve 2006, which earned a gold just a few months ago in a California competition of 1,700 wines, came in just 4 points behind the Octagon 2005 in this latest event. Quite a sweep for Barboursville. Congratulations.
The good news continues. Barboursville is offering a discount of 10%, for as few as 6 bottles for either of the award-winning wines. The offer is available until May 2nd for purchases through the Tasting Room, by e-mail at bvvy@barboursvillewine.com, or by telephone, 540-832-3824.
Don’t forget, if you are having dinner at the Estate’s Palladio Restaurant, you can visit the Tasting Room first. It has extended hours for the evenings Palladio is open.
If you’re wondering what to pour tonight, the judges have spoken!
