Spring Peonies, 30″ x 24″, oil on panel
Becky Parrish’s paintings are featured in the spring 2014 issue of The Piedmont Virginian.
A self-described contemporary impressionist, Parrish is best known for her floral paintings.
“Her paintings convey an honesty, a simple beauty to be found in expected ways, through flowers or vegetables, for instance, but also beauty found in unexpected objects—old tools, cans, jars, a beat up old chair,” Greg Huddleston, associate editor and author of the Art Gallery section of The Piedmont Virginian, said.
Her art shows are clearly successful. She recently sold five out of six paintings exhibited at a opening reception at Warm Springs Gallery in Charlottesville.
