There’s still time to catch a performance of “A Christmas Carol” at Four County Players, Central Virginia’s longest running community theater in Barboursville. The play has been adapted with a fresh approach by Michael Paller:
It’s Christmas Eve, 1843 and Dickens, writer and amateur theatricalist, wrestles with the shadows of his past. Suddenly he is overtaken with inspiration, such that when friends and family arrive hoping for a story from England’s greatest storyteller, Dickens claims that each of them must take a part in its telling. And thus unfolds the popular tale with fast costume changes, sound effects, and a cast of 10 playing over 40 parts.
There are performances on Fridays, December 12 and 19 at 8 pm; Saturday afternoons, December 13 and 20 at 2:30 pm; Saturday evenings, December 13 and 20 at 8 pm; Sunday, December 14 at 2:30 pm.
