Looking for the perfect excuse to drink in the harvest? That’d be at midnight tonight, November 20, marking the exact time that this year’s supply of Beaujolais Nouveau can be sampled. It is always the Thursday before Thanksgiving, and this tradition is often accompanied by special events. The Iron Bridge Wine Company is ready to celebrate by featuring it by the glass and as part of a flight of wines. The light, fruity wine will be paired with menu items including Foie Gras and Mussels. The French Hound will be pouring it by the glass starting with Thursday lunch and all weekend at their wine shop, The Wine Cellar. The Paeonian Gourmet in Loudoun’s Paeonian Springs will be doing a special tasting Friday night, and the Aldie Peddler will be conducting a tasting Saturday afternoon. No excuses needed. Time to toast the season.
