This year Richmond celebrates the 200th anniversary of the birth of Edgar Allan Poe. For a truly unique experience , the Linden Row Inn invites you to see history through the eyes of Edgar Allan Poe. Legend has it that Linden Row Inn has the enchanted gardens that Poe played in as a child, and then wrote about later in his life. Come and see the new Poe exhibit that opens on June 5, Poe’s Playground. This exhibit has been organized by 1708 Gallery. Poe’s Playground will feature works that Edgar Allan Poe would appreciate, including Caryl Burtner’s “Exorcism of Page 13” series to be countered with tongue and cheek work such as John Moser’s studies for “The Putt and the Pendulum” golf course and Noah Scalin’s Skull a Day Series. This exhibition will be through August 25. There will be an opening Party June 5th, for First Friday Artwalk, from 6-11pm.
There is a special Poe Package at Linden Row through December 31, 2009, this includes: Two nights’ stay in one of the Linden Row Inn’s Main House rooms.
