The Piedmont Virginian will be hitting up some fabulous fall festivals this weekend. Here’s a sampling of the region’s happenings:
Loudoun County: The Bluemont Fair promises over 30 kinds of attractions– from live demos of historic crafts to a farmer’s market exhibiting the freshest produce. Tarara Winery’s throwing their 13th annual Great Grape Wine Festival. Pssst. We hear there’ll be grape-stomping competitions.
Clarke County: Artists and musicians converge on Berryville to hear great bluegrass music at the Watermelon Park Fest. Nearby, the Blue Ridge Fall Races will take place at Woodley Farm to benefit Blue Ridge Hospice.
Prince William County: The 20th annual Haymarket Day will take place tomorrow, September 20th, from 9 am- 4 pm, with the parade kicking things off at 10 am. The theme? “A Historic Town on the Move.” Mayor Pam Stutz expects over 7,000 people in attendance.
Fauquier County: The Evening Under the Stars gala, of course, in the charming town of Warrenton! There will be food from 30 different restos, plus a silent auction and raffle.
Albemarle County: Check out the seed saving workshop at Jefferson’s Monticello: “The historic tradition of seed saving in America provides a meaningful model for modern gardeners eager to get the most from their gardens. Many special (and more common) garden plants are unavailable from commercial sources and need to be preserved from year to year.”
