After the success of last year’s festival, the second annual Heritage Harvest Festival will kick off this Saturday, September 6 at Monticello’s Tufton Farm. This promises to be a not-to-be-missed event showcasing traditional agriculture, sustainable gardening, and the local food movement. There will be all kinds of workshops, demos, and events (“how to make a rain garden, save seeds, grow heirloom veggies, cultivate woodland medicinal plants”) not to mention tastings galore. Local vendors include Integral Yoga Natural Foods, Dewpoint Gardens, Mangham Farms, Twin Oaks Commmunity Foods, and The Farm at Red Hill.
