Salsa Workshop
Learn the basics of water bath canning while making salsas from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Culpeper Extension Office, 101 S. West St., Culpeper. Class size is limited to 12 and costs $20. Commemoration Event
Join the Museum of Culpeper History and Best of America By Horseback in the Commemoration of the 300th Anniversary of the Ride of Lt. Governor Spotswood’s Knights of the Golden Horseshoe at Andora Farm located at 17275 Germanna Hwy. at 5 p.m. A bonfire, food, live music, Colonial games, presentations and photo ops with riders, re-enactors and horses. Orange Street Festival
The 41stAnnual Orange Street Festival will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2016 along Main Street in historic, downtown Orange, Virginia. Featuring over 150 vendors displaying handmade and local goods and specialty food vendors. There will be a kids fun zone along Short Street featuring activities and entertainment for children of all ages. Live music from local artists will be featured in Taylor Park with a special performance by Burnt Orange from 4:00 to 6:00 pm after the festival closes. A beverage garden featuring craft and domestic beers will be in Taylor Park as well.

The 24th annual “TASTE OF THE MOUNTAINS” Street Festival, sponsored by the Madison Chamber of Commerce will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event has earned its reputation for uniqueness with a following of visitors that return every year. In 1999 it was named as one of the top 20 festivals in the southeastern region. This occasion started in 1992 as a heritage festival that celebrates the Mountain and Traditional cultures of the 18th & 19th century America as reflected in the customs and history of the Blue Ridge Mountains region and has continued this theme.
This event is free and has free parking at the Madison County High School with shuttle buses that run throughout the day. There is a handicap bus as well, but there are some spaces available for handicap parking on Washington Street. The Madison Free Clinic will asking for donations for those spaces.
Madison is located 27 miles north from Charlottesville on Route 29 and 17 miles south of Culpeper on Route 29.
