Great Meadow’s annual Twilight Polo
Matches run May 14 through Sept. 17. Each Saturday night features three polo matches beginning at 6 p.m., wine tasting, tug o’ war for children and dancing in the pavilion. $35 per vehicle online. $40 at the gate. Mad Science Thursday
Held at the Culpeper County Library located at 271 Southgate Shopping Center at 10:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. or Friday, June 24th, at 10:30 a.m. Children and their caregivers are invited to join us for our special Spin, Pop, Boom show. This program is recommended for ages five and up. Our Mad Scientist will amaze kids as they defy gravity, create awesome rainbow reactions, dissolve a Styrofoam head, grow a hand, and more. The State Theatre presents magician Wes Iseli

Mount Vernon’s colonial artisans will reveal how 18th-century ice cream was made in the days before freezers. Enjoy a performance by Yorktown Fife & Drum and the National Concert Band.
Think you can strike a pose better than George Washington? Take your photo posing like the president and tag your photo on social media with #PoseLikeThePrez. Visit Washington’s Tomb at night – this event is one of the few times this area is open in the evening. Sparks will be flying at blacksmith shop, which will also be open. Additional food and drink from the Mount Vernon Inn Restaurant will be available for purchase.

Team Penning Cattle/Horse Practice Horse enthusiasts are invited to watch or ride in the family friendly team penning practices every Friday night (weather permitting) at Andora Farm. The Hot Seats kick off Bluemont’s Summer Concert Series
All Saturday evening concerts will take place at the Old County Courthouse at 30 West Davis Street in downtown historic Culpeper. Starts at 7:30 p.m. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and a picnic to enjoy before the show. Admission is $5 per person, $4 for Bluemont Friends and seniors, $2 for kids under 12. No pets, alcohol or smoking are allowed. In case of bad weather, the concerts will be held at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, located at 115 N East Street. All are welcome to these family-oriented events. Museum of Culpeper History and Luck Stone Quarry offer a special tour
Culpeper’s 6 ½ acre dinosaur track basin will once again be open for a very special public visitation. Participants need a car pass at $10 per car, per scheduled tour, in advance through the Museum, and to then assemble 15 minutes before your tour at the parking lot at Luck Stone Quarry, 18244 Germanna Hwy (Rte. 3) between Mount Pony and Stevensburg.
