Holiday Choral Concert
“The Spotsylvanians” a 70 voice chorus from the Fredericksburg area will be performing “Songs of the Season” at 3 p.m. in the sanctuary of Culpeper Baptist Church, 318 S. West Street. They are under the direction of Culpeper native Alex Smith. The Sanctuary and Handbell Choirs from Culpeper Baptist will also perform. The concert is free and open to the public. The bees are buzzing at Sky Meadows State Park. Meet our beekeepers Doug & Ramona Morris and the Beekeepers of Northern Shenandoah as they perform a honey extraction. Fall Farm Days: Life on the Farm
Come back to the family farm and experience all that Sky Meadows has to offer. Visit with the Beekeepers of the Northern Shenandoah to learn about the park’s apiary and beekeeping. Watch demonstrations by millers of the Burwell Morgan Mill and learn about the park’s production of Indian corn. Stop by the Blacksmith Shop and watch skilled artisans from the Blacksmith Guild of the Potomac work the forge. Kids, try your hand at making your own corn husk doll.
In addition to these agriculture-themed programs, we also offer Mount Bleak House tours, live music, a children’s play area, delicious food and drinks for sale, and, of course, the pick-your-own pumpkin patch.

20th Annual Culpeper Harvest Days Farm Tour Presented by the Culpeper Office of Economic Development and
the Culpeper Harvest Days Farm Tour Committee Saturday, Oct. 7 and Sunday, Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., rain or shine. Welcome Center – Culpeper County’s Agriculture Enterprises. A Free and Fun for All Ages Event. In Honor of the 20 Anniversary, the First 100 Families who visit the Welcome Center will receive a Farm Animal Tote.
Pollinator Garden Planting Day
Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, the Old Rag Master Naturalists, and the Town of Culpeper will conduct a planting day for a newly designed Pollinator Garden in Yowell Meadow Park. The Pollinator Garden will contain a variety of native trees, shrubs, and perennials to attract and nurture a variety of butterflies, bees, and other pollinators.
The Planting Day will be held on Thursday, October 12th starting at 9 a.m. with a rain date for the following Thursday, October 19th. The Town of Culpeper has already begun construction of the garden pathways in preparation for the planting day. The public is invited to attend and assist with the planting. There will be also opportunities to hear about the benefits of planting native plants in a pollinator habitat garden both in public places and at home.

During Fall Farm Days’ History Weekend, step back in time and see history come to life. Stroll through the Historic Area buildings and interact with our living historians, get a taste of hearth cooking, watch the blacksmiths at work at the forge and take a tour of Mount Bleak House. Discover the stories of the people who shaped the landscape at this historic family farm.

Culpeper Garden Club Fundraiser
The Culpeper Garden Club will sell wreaths and other evergreen holiday decorations to finance its charitable activities. On Nov. 19, 1-3 p.m., customers can purchase and pre-order from samples at the downtown Open House in the Depot/Museum area. On Saturday, Nov. 25, 11 a.m.- 2 p.m., customers can buy wreaths at the Depot/ Museum area. Prices are: $40 for a large magnolia, $30 for a medium Magnolia or boxwood wreath, $25 for a swag or tree & $25 for a hydrangea wreath. A bow is included in the price.

The Paris Apothecary is celebrating their 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY on February 10th, 2018!
February 10, 2018 The Paris Apothecary will host a poetry reading and book signing for Charlottesville-based poet, Jamie K. Reaser, her poems carefully chosen to reflect the apothecary’s space and energy, the time of the year, and the stories of seeds.

3:30-5:00pm – Interactive poetry reading by Jamie K. Reaser
5:00pm-7:00pm – Local Seed Swap accompanied by light live music (Bring some of your favorite seeds to trade with others! Please make sure to bring them in a labeled container, we will have seed packets here for you to put your traded seeds in)
