Fauquier Seed Swap
Swap your seeds. Meet some gardeners. Go home with new seeds and new ideas for the garden.
Free and open to all gardeners, wannabe gardeners, or folks who just want to see what the fuss is all about.
There will be
– seeds for swapping
– gardeners for gossiping
– and more!
Bring your seeds. Bring your friends. Go home with your friends’ seeds. Simple as that!
Got questions? Check out the details below or post your question to the wall here. We’re looking forward to seeing lots of y’all for this year’s seed swap — let’s make it bigger and better than ever!
WHAT
A seed swap is exactly what it sounds like: a chance to swap your extra flower, vegetable or herb seeds with other gardeners.
WHY
Because maybe you have too many tomato seeds, and not enough lettuce seeds. Because you want to try a new variety. Because you have extra, and want to share. Because it will be fun.
WHO
Anyone who has seeds or wants seeds. Expert gardeners. Beginner gardeners. Aspiring gardeners. Seed-savers. You.
HOW
It’s really pretty easy…
– Bring extra seeds that are no more than 2-3 years old.
– Store-bought, mail-ordered or home-saved; all seeds are welcome.
– If bringing seeds you saved yourself, please be sure they are from non-hybrid plants, and were saved and labeled properly.
– Please repackage large quantities of seeds into smaller envelopes or plastic baggies. Packets of 10-30 seeds are plenty for most plants and gardens.
– Please label all seed packets with the variety name, year saved (or bought), and source. Thank you!
– No seeds? Come anyway! There is always plenty of seed to share.

Leesburg Flower and Garden Festival
The Flower and Garden Festival is not just about flowers—or gardening. The festival has many different parts and pieces and that’s what makes it great for the whole family. Sure, we have lots of great plant vendors with everything from heirloom veggies to exotic orchids but we have so many other great finds too. Take your time to stroll the streets and see all the treasures hidden within the event. Tasty food, inspiring gift ideas, and one-of-a-kind art are just a few examples of what you will find around every corner.
But it is more than shopping – it’s a full day experience when you take in all the sights and sounds of the festival. During your visit, be sure to visit our Main Stage to listen to some great tunes or take the kiddos to the children’s area for some hands-on fun. Make it a point to check out the amazing landscape displays that grow up overnight- then vote for your favorite! And be sure to hit the Wine and Beer Garden for a sampling of the region’s finest spirits. So get your wagon ready and join us at the 26th Annual Flower and Garden Festival.

Terrarium Workshop at The Market at Grelen
Terrariums require minimal care, make great gifts and are simply beautiful which is why they get so much attention in the gardening world. The Market at Grelen customers continue to show plenty of passion for the subject, so we are offering this popular class again. Come get your hands dirty and learn how to create one of these beauties using one of our Garden Terrarium Kits. Everything you need is included in the kit, except miniature plants. You can choose from a terrarium that sits on a table (8″, 10″ or 12″) or one that hangs (see photos). We have a huge selection of mini succulents, house plants and cacti. Plants & Miniatures will be 15% off for all participants on the day of the workshop. There is no “workshop fee” as we are only charging for materials. Coffee is included. If you’d rather make a terrarium using a different type of terrarium (we have lots!), that is fine, but please email info@themarketatgrelen so that we can sign you up and quote you a custom price. Reserve TODAY… Lunch will be available in the cafe 11:30 – 2:30 a la carte.
