Giving Locally For The Holidays
The Culpeper Center and Culpeper Renaissance, Inc. have partnered to provide Culpeper charities with a free opportunity to promote “Giving Locally for the Holidays.” As part of CRI’s Annual Holiday Open House scheduled from noon until 5 p.m., the Culpeper Center will host an open house providing a free booth space to a limited number of local charities. Also located at the Culpeper Center will be photos with Santa, story time with the Culpeper County Library, complimentary seasonal refreshments, and free crafts for kids. LulaRoe Fundraiser Bazaar
Linda’s Loonies, Culpeper Relay For Life team, will be hosting a multi-consultant LulaRoe Bazaar at Yowell Elementary School (701 Yowell Drive, Culpeper) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. If you haven’t tried LuLaRoe clothing this is an excellent opportunity to do so by shopping multiple consultants in one location. Christmas in Little Washington
The 12th annual Christmas in Little Washington celebration includes a parade (which starts at 1:30), local and regional food vendors and an artisan market from 11 to 4 p.m. Parade features the Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps, the Rappahannock County High School Marching Band, antique cars, local fire and rescue trucks and Santa Claus. Film Festival
Friends of the Rappahannock’s (FOR) 6th annual film festival (Wild and Scenic) will be shown at two locations. On Saturday, March 18 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Daniel Technology Center on the Germanna Community College. The following week on Saturday, March 25 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. the festival will be held at UMW’s Dodd Auditorium in Fredericksburg. Festival tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. School students are free of charge, college students free with ID. Delaplane Strawberry Festival
Enjoy hayrides, old fashioned field games, dancing, music, magic, storytelling, crafts, a petting farm, an antique car show, a bake sale, hikes in the shadow of the Appalachian Trail, face painting, cake-walking, a corn hole tournament, open house tours of Mount Bleak House, a monkey and much more. All for just $25 a car. Pack a picnic or snack on pizza, fresh wraps, hot dogs and other festival fare such as funnel cakes, strawberry shortcakes and sundaes. The festival is put on by Emmanuel Episcopal Church of Delaplane, VA on Memorial Day weekend May 27 & 28. Fall Farm Days: Life on the Farm
Come back to the family farm and experience all that Sky Meadows has to offer. Visit with the Beekeepers of the Northern Shenandoah to learn about the park’s apiary and beekeeping. Watch demonstrations by millers of the Burwell Morgan Mill and learn about the park’s production of Indian corn. Stop by the Blacksmith Shop and watch skilled artisans from the Blacksmith Guild of the Potomac work the forge. Kids, try your hand at making your own corn husk doll.
In addition to these agriculture-themed programs, we also offer Mount Bleak House tours, live music, a children’s play area, delicious food and drinks for sale, and, of course, the pick-your-own pumpkin patch.

As part of our Rest and Rejuvenation Fall Farm Days weekend, this fun Halloween-themed trail race promises fun and adventure for everyone. Runners, walkers and families are encouraged to wear costumes and do their best to conquer the course while completing all five fun stations along the way. There will be treats, and there will be tricks (evil laugh). Achieve a sticker at all five locations and receive a voucher for a free pumpkin from the park’s pick-your-own patch.
At the end of the race, join facilitating organization Roots and Rocks Adventure for music, an awesome recovery tent provided by Performance Sport & Spine, and an abundance of post-race food. Stick around for awards for the top three finishers overall and for each 10-year age group, as well as great random prizes. Afterwards, be sure to take your voucher to the park’s Historic Area to get your pumpkin and continue the Fall Farm Days fun.

Graduate Charlottesville is teaming up with Habitat for Humanity to make fall fun and philanthropic. Enjoy a flight of cider, scrumptious bites from Sheepdog Café and a pumpkin to carve for $10 (free for hotel guests). 20% of the proceeds from this event will be donated to support the 5th Annual Habitat for Humanity Rake-A-Thon.
