The two-time Grammy winner and celebrated composer and acoustic guitarist Laurence Juber returns to the Theatre at Washington, Virginia, for a solo concert during his tour of the East Coast from his home base in California. These annual concerts are always among the most highly attended at the Theatre, which Juber has called “one of my favorite venues to play [since] it has just the right combination of intimacy and pure acoustics.”

The Pirates of Penzance at the Heritage Theatre Festival at UVA
Gilbert & Sullivan’s musical theater masterpiece tells the story of young Frederic, who on the eve of his 21st birthday, looks forward to breaking the bonds of his indentured servitude, only to be foiled by a leap year birthday technicality and an overdeveloped sense of duty that keeps him in their delightfully chaotic employ. This is a timeless pirate tale for all ages – including swashbuckling hijinks, clueless cops, frolicking maidens, and a famously bumbling Major General. Libretto by W.S. Gilbert and Music by Arthur Sullivan, Directed by Colleen Kelly.

Bluegrass & BBQ Series Featuring Mile Twelve
Join us for a night of Bluegrass & BBQ with Mile Twelve!
Mile Twelve is a fresh, hard driving young band beautifully walking the line between original and traditional bluegrass. Based in Boston, Massachusetts and fast gaining recognition for their outstanding performances throughout bluegrass and folk circles, Evan Murphy, Bronwyn Keith-Hynes, Nate Sabat and BB Bowness create captivating songs and daring instrumental pieces from diverse influences. Banjo Luminary Tony Trishcka says, “Mile Twelve is carrying the bluegrass tradition forward with creativity and integrity.”

In the event of bad weather, concerts will be moved to Taylor Middle School, located at 350 E Shirley Ave. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or a blanket to sit on, and a picnic to enjoy before the show. Admission is $5 per person, $4 for Bluemont friends and seniors, $2 for kids under 12. No pets or smoking allowed. For the first time, Bluemont Concerts in Warrenton will feature a beer and wine garden showcasing local breweries and wineries. Must be 21 years or older and valid ID is required. If concerts are moved indoors due to weather, no alcohol will be served. Wine and beer will be served in a roped off garden-area only- and offered from 6:30 p.m. -9:30 p.m. on concert nights.
