Christmas in Provence Wine Dinner

The holidays are fast approaching, and this is the perfect way to begin the Christmas season. Join us for an afternoon of celebrating the traditions of Provence. Our holiday wine dinner features both traditional and regional fare from the South of France prepared by our Chef Steven Farrell. This is the perfect holiday celebration to enjoy with family & friends by the crackling fire. Christmas Illuminations at Mount Vernon
Kick off your holiday season with sparking fireworks overlooking the Potomac River on Friday & Saturday, December 16 & 17!
oin Mount Vernon for an evening of family-friendly fun and fireworks choreographed to holiday music, with fireworks beginning around 9 p.m. Take a stroll through the estate while being serenaded by local choirs, visit with re-enactors from the First Virginia Regiment in winter encampment, and learn 18th-century dance moves from costumed guides in the Greenhouse. “George and Martha Washington” will also be on site to greet Mount Vernon’s holiday guests.
Watch as colonial artisans demonstrate the 18th-century process of creating chocolate. Keep toasty by warming up by a bonfire, visiting the blacksmith shop, or enjoying some hot chocolate or cider. Additional tasty food will be available for purchase. Still haven’t found the perfect holiday gift? Take some time to complete any last minute gift needs at the Shops at Mount Vernon, open late during Christmas Illuminations.

Live Nativity
Mt Lebanon Baptist Church will be portraying their 3rd annual ‘A Live Nativity’ at The Ole Country Store from 5 – 8 p.m. This free, outdoor, walk through event will include animals, narration, carolers, kids activity, homemade refreshments and much more. Warm up with hot chocolate and gather around the fire as you listen to Christmas carolers and talk with friends. The event will be held at 18019 Country Store Dr, Culpeper. Continues through Dec. 18. Way of The Cross Through Culpeper
On Saturday April 8, 2017, the day before Palm Sunday, the procession as one Christian family to witness one common conviction: the redeeming power of Jesus will follow a cross from one end of Culpeper to the other, stopping at churches along the way to join in song, to proclaim the Gospel, and to pray.
To join the procession, please park at Culpeper United Methodist Church (1233 Oaklawn Drive) at 10am. Shuttles will drive participants to the starting point. The procession will end back at CUMC around 1pm.
The procession will begin at 10:30am from the social hall at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church and will proceed for approximately 1.5 miles throughout the Town of Culpeper. Each of the fourteen stations will feature song, a Gospel passage, and a prayer. For a route map and list of stops, please visit CulpeperCross.info.

Easter at the Park
Celebrate the beginning of spring in the historic Morven Park gardens with games, crafts, egg hunts and our popular egg roll down the Davis Mansion lawn. Be sure to meet rabbits from the 4H Leaps and Squeaks Rabbit Club, and take your own family photo with the Easter Bunny in our garden.
Don’t forget to bring a basket and a large spoon for the activities. This event sells out and pre-registration is required to attend.
Registration is $10 per child (ages 2-12) and $5 per adult.
Items to consider before registering for this event:
–Children must be accompanied by an adult.
–This event is held rain or shine.
–ALL SALES ARE FINAL. Absolutely no refunds.
–The Easter eggs contain an assortment of candies, small toys and stickers that may not be appropriate for young children. Items could be a choking hazard and parents should exercise caution and examine egg contents carefully.
