Virginia Festival of the Book Presents: An Evening with Bryan Stevenson

Saturday, March 19, 2016 @ 12:00 am

Bryan Stevenson (Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption) will speak about his experiences as a social justice lawyer and how these continue to influence his life-long work to support criminal justice system reform as well as anti-poverty and anti-discrimination efforts. An outspoken advocate and thoughtful leader, Stevenson challenges the legacy of racial inequality in the United States, asking Americans to reconsider issues of justice and compassion. John Grisham will join Stevenson on stage for discussion of these issues.http://www.theparamount.net/2015/virginia-festival-of-the-book-presents-an-evening-with-bryan-stevenson/

Fauquier Seed Swap

Saturday, March 19, 2016
Unnamed Venue, VA United States

Swap your seeds. Meet some gardeners. Go home with new seeds and new ideas for the garden.

Free and open to all gardeners, wannabe gardeners, or folks who just want to see what the fuss is all about.

There will be
– seeds for swapping
– gardeners for gossiping
– and more!

Bring your seeds. Bring your friends. Go home with your friends’ seeds. Simple as that!

Got questions? Check out the details below or post your question to the wall here. We’re looking forward to seeing lots of y’all for this year’s seed swap — let’s make it bigger and better than ever!

WHAT
A seed swap is exactly what it sounds like: a chance to swap your extra flower, vegetable or herb seeds with other gardeners.

WHY
Because maybe you have too many tomato seeds, and not enough lettuce seeds. Because you want to try a new variety. Because you have extra, and want to share. Because it will be fun.

WHO
Anyone who has seeds or wants seeds. Expert gardeners. Beginner gardeners. Aspiring gardeners. Seed-savers. You.

HOW
It’s really pretty easy…

– Bring extra seeds that are no more than 2-3 years old.

– Store-bought, mail-ordered or home-saved; all seeds are welcome.

– If bringing seeds you saved yourself, please be sure they are from non-hybrid plants, and were saved and labeled properly.

– Please repackage large quantities of seeds into smaller envelopes or plastic baggies. Packets of 10-30 seeds are plenty for most plants and gardens.

– Please label all seed packets with the variety name, year saved (or bought), and source. Thank you!

– No seeds? Come anyway! There is always plenty of seed to share.
