Federal Retirees Meetup

Book Club Meetup
The Friends of the Library Third Thursday Book Club discusses “The Monster of Florence” by Douglas Preston and Mario Spezi. In 2000, Douglas Preston fulfilled a dream to move his family to Italy. Then he discovered that the olive grove in front of their 14th century farmhouse had been the scene of the most infamous double-murders in Italian history, committed by a serial killer known as the Monster of Florence. Preston, intrigued, meets Italian investigative journalist Mario Spezi to learn more. Meets at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. New members welcome. Read the book and come. Middle Street Gallery Haiku Art Show
Members of Middle St. Gallery, in Sperryville, are putting on an art exhibition in which members’ paintings, sculptures, photographs, and multi-media works are accompanied by Japanese haiku poems, most of them written by the artists.There will be an opening reception at the gallery on Sat. March 11 from 3pm to 5pm. The public is invited to come and see recent works and read haiku by some 20 artists from Rappahannock County and nearby areas. Hours are Fri.-Sun. 10am to 4pm.
