Potomac Flight Honoring Disabled American Veterans
On October 7, World War II era aircraft, including T-6 “Texans”, will launch from Culpeper Regional Airport and soar in formation down the Potomac River. The Potomac Flight over the Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery is in honor of DAV (Disabled American Veterans) and pays tribute to the services and sacrifices veterans have made to secure our nation’s freedom. This ceremonial formation flight will be visible from Alexandria, Arlington and Rosslyn, VA. Culpeper Air Fest will serve as a home base for the ground-breaking flight.

The region’s premier Civil War Conference, now in its 19th year. Focus this year will be “July 3, 1863: Gettysburg, the Third Day.” Three-day long conference, concluding with a bus tour of Gettysburg with expert guides, authors, historians.

Guests experience an evening tour of the Washingtons’ home and are invited to visit the basement where he stored his wine. To accompany the wine tasting, fruit and cheese boxes are available by advance purchase for $29.99.
VIP tables start at $1,100 and include admission for 12 people, three bottles of Mount Vernon house wine, a dessert platter from Alexandria Pastry Shop, a fruit and cheese tray from the Mount Vernon Inn Restaurant, and private waiter service.

For 6th-12th grade, ages 11 & up. Advance sign up required. 6-8 p.m. We will be doing paintings with circles using tempera paint on large poster boards. They will be displayed during October. Wear clothing that can get messy and socks since we will have to walk on drop cloths without shoes on. Snacks served. 271 Southgate Shopping Center. Fredericksburg First Friday Art Walk – Encounter God Through the Arts

“Points of Reference” Exhibition Reception
PONSHOP Studio and Gallery continues to host “Points of Reference,” an exhibition featuring James Walker for the month of October. If you didn’t get a chance to see his exhibition in September, there’s still time. Join us Friday, October 7 (6-10pm), as we host a second reception for James Walker. For this reception, Walker will be replacing a few artworks that were displayed in September with his newest work.

The Culpeper County Library presents “Drop-in Craft with a Poem Saturday,” drop-in between 10:30 a.m. and noon. Children in kindergarten and up are invited to participate in this self-guided program. Virginia Outdoors Festival
The Virginia Outdoors Foundation presents the Virginia Outdoors Festival, celebrating our work to protect 800,000 of open space across Virginia over the last 50 years. The family-friendly event will feature a farmers’ market, guided tours of the preserve where the festival is located, a silent auction, food vendors, pumpkin painting, apple bobbing and a kids’ fishing tournament. Numerous demonstrations will take place at the event, as well as live music from Nashville’s Hadley Park, wearehadleypark.com. The festival will take place at the Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve in Loudoun County from 11 A.M. to 3 P.M. on October 8. Admission is free for all ages

Things that go bump in the night and other Tall Tales from the Graffiti House. Come join Brandy Station Foundation volunteers on a tour featuring some of our favorite stories of the unexplained from the historic Graffiti House. Hear hair-raising tales of personal encounters, sightings of apparitions that appear before staff and guests, disembodied voices and much more.
