It’s always good news when a talented pastry chef returns to the region and provides sweet tastes. That’s the reason for a warm welcome to Sheree McDowell, the new pastry chef at Ayrshire Farm, its store (Home Farm), restaurant (Hunter’s Head Tavern), and catering operations.
What could be perceived as a daunting task for some has become a creative lifestyle for the pastry arts graduate from Louisville’s Sullivan University. McDowell’s work may be familiar to residents in the Piedmont as she earned the Critic’s Choice award at last year’s YMCA Chocolates & More event. Prior to her tenure in our area, McDowell was the pastry chef at the five star/five diamond Woodlands Resort & Inn in Summerville, SC.
Maybe one of her proudest achievements was creating a celebratory dessert for Julia Child’s 90th birthday celebration at the Inn at Little Washington where McDowell was the chef de partie.
We’re ready to indulge ourselves with her creative talent.
