Book Lovers! Don’t forget the 13th annual Library of Congress National Book Festival, held Saturday, September 21 (10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m) and Sunday, September 22 (noon -5:30 p.m.) on the National Mall between 9th and 14th Streets. President Obama and Michelle Obama will be honorary chairs of the Festival.
There is something for everyone at this Festival. The festival will feature poets, authors and illustrators who will be available to meet & sign books. Kids will be able to have photos taken with storybook characters, and there are many other activities that will interest children as well as adults.
A second part of the festival is the survey “Books that Shaped the World,” a discussion that avid readers will find fascinating. This is a continuation of sorts of last year’s very popular “Books that Shaped America.” This discussion has already started online, and readers are invited to weigh in online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/
