Taking a huge leap of faith Derek & Amanda Luhowiak have purchased a custom trailer, planted a huge garden and will be traveling the Piedmont serving local food. Local Sixfortyseven is a mobile farm-to-fork kitchen. They will pull up to local markets and cook fresh from farmers’ products. They use all eco-friendly compostable to-go ware as well as eco-friendly cleaning supplies. Derek and Amanda have their own garden, small fruit bushes, and bees. They source all their local meat products, and are involved in every step of the process. They are not afraid to ruffle some feathers along the way. Their goal is to be a working homestead generating income from food, vegetables, and crafts. Local Sixfortyseven will be at Centerville Farmers Market this Friday from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm and Sunday at the Plains Farmers Market from 10:00 am to 2 pm. Local Sixfortyseven is also available for catering and private events. Good Luck! Any guesses on where the name Local Sixfortyseven came from?
