We stopped by the 14th and U Street Farmers Market in Washington D.C. on Saturday morning and oohed and ahhed over the magnificent produce on display. One of our favorite Loudoun County farms sets up here, and their veggies are almost too perfect to eat. (Case in point: Excellent restos like Komi select produce– leafy greens, root crops, heirloom tomatoes– from Mountain View Farm to create their talked-about dishes.) Located at the Blue Ridge Center for Environmental Stewardship, Mountain View is a small market garden run by Shawna DeWitt and Attila Agoston. You can buy their produce at the U Street market until mid November. They operate a vegetable CSA, to boot.
