Piedmont Council of the Arts is launching a new series called Creative Conversations, a forum for arts-related idea exchange and collaboration. The goal of the program is “to bring arts organizations, artists, arts educators, and community leaders together to develop strategies for strengthening the arts in our community.” To date over 20 groups have registered to attend this group!
The 2008-09 series will cover three major points:
- Arts Education and Our Community, September 30, 2008
- Marketing Charlottesville as a Creative Community, January 13, 2009
- Creating Community-Wide Access to the Arts, April 21, 2009
“Arts Education and Our Community,” will take place on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 from 12-2pm at CitySpace*. Lunch will be provided. PCA will offer guiding questions and follow-up notes, but this is not an information session or a workshop. Sharing ideas and insights, participants will determine their own course for the continuation of the conversation. There is no fee to attend, but all folks should register in advance.
*CitySpace is located at 100 5th St. NE on the Downtown Mall in the space adjacent to CCDC.
