It’s gratifying to see how the universe applauds the Virginia wine industry. Recently at the San Francisco Chronicle’s Wine Competition, the largest such competition of American wines in the World, Sugarleaf Vineyards, from outside Charlottesville, scored impressively.
They earned 3 silver medals for 2007 wines: Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and the Petit Manseng. If you have one foot out the door to grab some of these winners from your local wine shop, STOP. Both the Cab Franc and Cab Sauvignon have not yet been released but are available to Wine Club Members. Time to sign up.
If you’re looking for a taste of spring and summer fruit, then the Petit Manseng may just fit the bill with its forward rich palate of peaches, apple, and mango and just a hint of spice.
Let’s raise our glasses in a toast to this award-winning winery!
