As promised we are alerting you to the new date to purchase tickets for Outstanding in the Field events. After the computer glitch (debacle), they decided that the smart move would be to create two different scheduled sign-in times this Saturday, March 27. If you are trying to purchase one of the special farm-field dinners for the May 1-July 31 period, then tickets go on sale at 12 noon. If you want to attend an event scheduled between Aug.1 and Dec. 5, sign-in begins at 2 P.
To help you plan, here is the full schedule with some calendar additions. Note that the Ayrshire Farm event has expanded to two days, September 10 ( with RJ Cooper, chef of DC’s Vidalia) and September 11 with chef Rob Townsend of Hunter’s Head. The bus stays in VA an additional day and moves from Upperville to Purcellville on Sunday, September 12 to Potomac Vegetable Farms with chef Tony Chittum from Alexandria’s Vermilion. We have an all-star lineup in the Piedmont!
By dividing the events into two different sign-in periods, the company is hopeful the new computer upgrades will be able to handle the mass enthusiasm. I doubt if you need any further sign of the strength of the locavore movement and the attention to freshness!
So get out your credit card and be ready for this Saturday’s appointment with the clock.
