Just because it’s been an extremely cold start to the New Year, it doesn’t mean you have to stay bundled up at home the whole month. There are some wonderful wine seminars and winemaking opportunities in the next few weeks. Yes, many more to follow as we get later in the calendar, but as for now, here are some to consider and make reservations to hold your space.
—Gadino Cellars has two separate vertical wine tasting events this Saturday, January 16. They will be tasting the 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007 Cabernet Francs at both the 1 PM and 4 PM seatings. Reservations (571-221-7681) are necessary as with all these programs, space is limited. The $60 admission fee includes light food pairings to match the vintages.
—Jefferson Vineyards is ready to introduce you to the art of blending lots of Chardonnay and Viognier into your own special cuvee. Reservations (434-977-3042) are necessary for both the January 16 and 23 Master Class in Wine Blending under the tutelage of winemaker Andy Reagan. Cost: $40 per person which includes a box lunch.
—Philip Carter Winery continues its free admission education program with Wine Tasting 102 on January 16 from 1-3 PM. They are also offering the same wine tasting program January 30.
Here’s your opportunity to take a little outing and improve your wine knowledge. Who knows you may decide to join one of the wine clubs and continue to practice your tasting skills at home!
