Urban Places Rural Spaces will open Friday, May 1, 5:30-7:30 pm at the Charlottesville Community Design Center, as part of the First Friday events for Downtown. Local artists have worked with the Charlottesville Community Design Center, the Piedmont Environmental Council, the City of Charlottesville and Albemarle County to create this exhibit. The community is invited to visit this unique art exhibit that uses words, images and interactive elements to explore the relationship between urban and rural environments in Charlottesville and Albemarle. The exhibit features an installation designed by local artists and large-scale photographs by Robert Llewellyn, who is frequently featured on the pages of The Piedmont Virginian. A series of talks on community planning and design will be held in the gallery during the course of exhibit. For
