It’s been an impressive last few years for the wine industry in Virginia as it earned a lengthy list of accolades in both the domestic and international arenas for its growing prominence in wine competitions. Now it seems that more wineries are ready to test their mettle.
When you’re back to reality after a long Fourth of July holiday, consider a trip to the terroir of Hume, VA, and the newest entrant in a field of great wines as Hume Vineyards opens its doors on July 10. They’ve been working toward this day for over three years and already have their wine club in place to help you solve the after-tasting conundrum.
There’s more palate-pleasing wine news. DuCard Vineyards is still in the final phase of its tasting room construction, but is already in celebratory mode with their complete list of wines to taste and local foods to pair with the varying depth of structure in the wines.
Once again, the Piedmont fills the calendar with good, tasty outings.
