I started out Virginia Wine Week at a Wine class at Corcoran Vineyards. Classes like this are a wonderful way to learn more about the wine in your glass, why it tastes the way it does, and what sets Virginia Wine apart from the rest of the world. Classes can cover anything from the flavor and grapes used in your wine, to wine tasting 101. This class broke down how the different Oaks make a difference in the final wine. We also learned how to find the different flavors in your wine. Educate yourself on these wines, it will help you to enjoy them more and be able to help improve your Virginia Wine experience. It is an exciting time to be in Virginia. Many of your favorite wineries offer these classes, and I think you will be impressed by what you learn.
Check on the local winery websites and look on VirginiaWine.org website to see what classes may interest you, well worth the time.
Oh and by the way we were treated to a glass of Corcorans Mary’s Cuvee. This is a wonderful blend done by Mary Watson DeLauder. This is a limited edition, and well worth it. Mary’s passion for wine and life comes through in this amazing wine.
