The 8th annual Norton Wine and Bluegrass Fest promises to be a rip-roaring good time; even the New York Times picked up on this one. Over the weekend of October 4-5, head over to Chrysalis Vineyards outside Middleburg for the winery’s biggest bash of the year. What’s on the agenda? Bluegrass pickings by Jackass Flats, Hickory Ridge, Lisa Kay Howard, and Flint Hollow; craft and artisan food vendors; hay rides; vineyard tours; a special 9-wine tasting with commemorative take home glasses. You’ll be able to sample all those famous Norton wines, as Chrysalis is on a mission “to restore the native American grape, Norton, to its position of prominence as a source of world class wines”– as we reported in the Autumn 2007 issue of The Piedmont Virginian.
Admission is $15 per person in advance, $20 at the door. Free admission for VIP Club members.
