Don’t miss what promises to be a fun-filled weekend in the country. Rappahannock County is prepping for its Farm Tour (September 26-27) promoting sustainable agriculture and land stewardship. Come witness what sustainable farming is all about; some 20 farms and wineries are participating, along with farm-to-table student programs and environmental organizations. Bed down at one of the county’s beautiful B&Bs (offering special packages for the weekend), then pick up a map and head out on this family-friendly tour.
You’ll find plenty of local products, plus presentations at the Rappahannock Farmers Market at The Link community center (the historic Sperryville Schoolhouse) in Sperryville, which also will serve as the starting point for the tour. Admission is a $5 donation per person, ages 16 and older. On Friday evening, check out a special viewing of the new documentary “Fresh” and on Saturday evening, the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection will host a dinner and barn dance at Greenwood Farm’s Hill Top Home. For more information, check out the website or call 540-675-5330.
