Now that we have officially bid Adieu to summer, It’s time to get serious about Fall and its special activities. Polo at Great Meadows with the 24th Annual Commonwealth Cup and The Wine Festival at the Plains promises an easy seasonal transition. This year, there’s an added plus: A gourmet element. Both Saturday and Sunday, September 12th and 13th will feature food and wine experts ready to answer the pressing food world question: “What Makes Chefs Gods?”
Now if you haven’t thought about that topic or wonder what it could mean, here’s your chance to meet Joe David, author of Gourmet Getaways, Terry Sheehan, executive chef of The Boar’s Head, and Philip Carter Strother and Dick Zweber, winemakers at Philip Carter Winery.
Chef Sheehan will prepare hors d’oeuvres, and the Carter Winery experts will pair them with the estate’s Chardonnay. You’ll have a chance to congratulate the Winery folk as they will receive the Virginia Favorite Winery Award for 2009 at the Festival. There’ll be plenty of time to sample gourmet food and expand your food and wine pairing expertise.
Check out the coupon and save $10 at this weekend’s fun wine and sporting event.
