Russian Grand Ballet presents Swan Lake
Only one opportunity to see the Russian Grand Ballet’s full-length classical production of one of the world’s most famous ballet – Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, including the rarely seen Waltz of the Black Swans, and featuring Russia’s brightest ballet stars.
Odette, a beautiful princess, falls under the spell of an evil sorcerer. Only Prince Siegfried’s devotion can save her.
Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake combines pure romanticism and tragedy, in a magical tale of love and deception. The glorious score and gravity-defying choreography have enchanted audiences for over a century, and continue to inspire new generations of dancers and music lovers of all ages.
NoVa Wellness & YogaFest Retreat
A 3-day authentically envisioned and carefully planned weekend aimed at creating calm, camaraderie and harmony for all those who attend. PONSHOP Studio and Gallery is thrilled to host a 2nd reception for the continuation of “Fur-Ever Friends,” an exhibition featuring our animal companions. The exhibit consists of the work of eight participating artists, some of whom are contributing new artworks for the month of October. The re-opening reception of “Fur-Ever Friends” will take place on Friday, October 6 (6-9pm).
Participating Artists include: Conrad Coe, Maddie Huddle, Anna Martin, Shannon Wang, Leah Emerald, Ben Morse, James Walker and Gabriel Pons.
Additionally, PONSHOP would like to introduce the artwork of Samantha Brodek, who has permanently joined the ranks of current PONSHOP artists. Working out of Richmond, VA, Samantha Brodek’s work features incredibly detailed illustrations of dark subject matter; in her artwork you’ll find skeletons, florals, animal motifs, and other creepy crawlies… just in time for Halloween!

The Rappahannock Model Railroaders (RMR) club will have their O-Gauge model railroads chugging through displays in Leatherneck Gallery at the National Museum of the Marine Corps
RMR members consider themselves ambassadors of “The Greatest Hobby” and work to promote the joy of model railroading in a positive way. This is a fun event for all ages. Admission to the Museum and parking are free.

The Women’s Initiative presents BozART Fine Art Collective from October 7 – December 29, 2017, hours 9 – 5 pm. A reception with hors d’oeuvres is planned for November 3 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. The address is 1101 East High Street, Suite A, Charlottesville, VA 22902. BozART is a cooperative of 21 local artists who have been together 24 years, many of which were in BozArt Gallery on the downtown mall. When it closed in 2014, the members stayed together as a group, deciding to meet and present exhibits for the benefit of the community. The Women’s Initiative is a popular and sought after venue for their shows.

Come back to the family farm and experience all that Sky Meadows has to offer. Visit with the Beekeepers of the Northern Shenandoah to learn about the park’s apiary and beekeeping. Watch demonstrations by millers of the Burwell Morgan Mill and learn about the park’s production of Indian corn. Stop by the Blacksmith Shop and watch skilled artisans from the Blacksmith Guild of the Potomac work the forge. Kids, try your hand at making your own corn husk doll.
In addition to these agriculture-themed programs, we also offer Mount Bleak House tours, live music, a children’s play area, delicious food and drinks for sale, and, of course, the pick-your-own pumpkin patch.

BozART Fine Art Collective is a cooperative of 21 local artists who have been together as a group for 24 years, exhibiting in various venues in the Charlottesville area. They are inspired by the beautiful scenery of the area, particularly ones like Whitehall Vineyard. Many art forms are represented in this exhibit, including oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, collage, photography and ceramics. The dates of the two day show are October 7 and 8 from 11-5 pm and the address is 5282 Sugar Ridge Road, Crozet, VA 22932.

Musical Director and alto sax virtuoso Jim Carroll leads this distinguished ensemble comprising some of the metro area’s finest jazz musicians in a concert featuring the versatile Skonberg. Her soulful, sultry voice and extensive trumpet dexterity fuses modern pop with jazz, creating unique allure. World War I Wednesday
In commemoration of the centennial of World War I, the National Museum of the Marine Corps will be hosting WWI Wednesday educational displays the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month.
The Museum’s Education and Community Outreach teams will be displaying WWI uniforms and gear in Leatherneck Gallery. There will also be a craft for children!
Admission to the Museum and parking are FREE!
