Middleburg’s Annual Town-wide Sidewalk Sale will be held this year on Saturday and Sunday, August 8-9. Many of the specialty shops in town will have sale and discounts on everything from shoes to children’s clothes to pottery to food. I did a little sneak peak today and I suggest you get into town early. Participating stores and restaurants will have colorful balloons outside their stores to indicate participation in the sale, but you still may want to venture in all the businesses. A sneak preview of sales include: WhiteBench is offering 75% off selected merchandise, Lou Lou will have some of their favorite trinkets at reduced prices, Tully Rector will have dramatically reduced prices, as well as their popular shoe sale (ahhh) and Home Farm will be there to help you refuel by having tasting and sales in there unique shop. ‘Check out the new soda fountain, and be sure to check out the new cooking classes they offer for kids.’ Three Crowns is slashing prices throughout the store and Salamander Touch will have 30% off Mistral products, a great thing to stock up on for the holidays. The Magic Wardrobe will offer 40% to 70% off fall and spring inventory. If you have to only go to one place make sure it is the Fun Shop, at the west end of the village. They will have great discounts on many treasures in the store. For those of you who have never been to The Fun Shop it is Middleburgs own twist on a traditional department store, this is where the phrase, something for everyone was invented.  There will be plenty of restaurants offering great lunch specials for the day, and I am sure that there will be dinner specials as well. I am not sure if you can do all these great shops in one day, so I would suggest you stay for the night, Middleburg Country Inn (540)687-6082 and Red Fox Inn (540)687-6301 both offer a great Sidewalk Sale Special.  Enjoy your visit to Middleburg, shop happy!
