Have you heard? Some of our Piedmont Vineyards will be featured in the new documentary Vintage: The Winemaker’s Year, a feature length (90 mins long) documentary about the rapid growth of the wine industry in Virginia. Yes, Virginia, wine really is this good!
Silverthorn Films will premiere the documentary on September 22nd, with broadcast dates of Octber 5th & 7th on PBS stations across the nation.
This insightful documentary will show you just how far the wine industry has come in Va — from when the first vinifera vines were planted at Barboursville Vineyards in 1976, to the 163 wineries (and growing) now in Va.
Viewer’s will be able to see Virginia as a rapidly growing player in the wine industry (as if we didn’t already know!) and why it’s gaining national attention. Not only is Va wine pleasant to indulge in, but it also has a large impact on our states cultural, social and economic landscape.
