This weekend, DuCard Vineyards will host their annual Easter Egg Hunt with music on the patio on Saturday, March 30, 2013, from 12-5 PM. Come out and enjoy the beautiful mountains and weather (and delicious wine!) while having fun with the family. Caroline Glattly will be performing on the patio and there will be a special appearance by the Easter Bunny too!

DuCard Vineyards is nestled at the base of beautiful blue ridge mountains, on the eastern edge of  Shenadoah National Park. From there you can admire soaring Old Rag Mountain and White Oak Canyon. DuCard offers a gorgeous tasting room and strive’s to respect the environment and support local businesses in everything they do.

Wings Over Wine Country

The Virginia Wildlife Center will be here with live raptors –  hawks, owls and other ‘ambassadors’ and talk about their efforts to rehabilitate injured wildlife in Virginia.  This has become a great tradition at DuCard, so bring the family for a unique and up-close look.   No charge, but contributions welcome, with matching by DuCard.

Winemaker’s Brunch catered by l’etoile Restaurant

Chef Mark Gresge from l’etoile in Charlottesvillewill be providing a four course meal to be paired with DuCard wines.  Live music by Vicky Lee on the harp will accompany this elegant brunch, and with good weather you’ll dine on the patio too.  Seating is limited and advance reservations are required with 72 hour cancellation policy.  $50 per person plus tax and gratuity (15% discount for Wine Club members, always).  Menu is here.  For reservations click here

Oyster Festival at DuCard

It’s an R month so oysters are in season.  The Rappahannock River Oyster Company will be on site with oysters on the half shell, steamed oysters, crabcakes and related delectibles for purchase.  We think they all pair well with DuCard’s Signature Viognier and Gibson Hollow Whitef.  Live music by great local group Trius – a fun afternoon ‘up country.’
